Does political incivility threaten American democracy?
Is there a correlation between political incivility and productivity?
Dr. Cornell Clayton of Washington State University will lead a lively discussion, as well as challenge assumptions about the relationship between civility and democratic participation at a free event at the Burien Library on Tuesday, April 19, starting at 7 p.m.
He will also explore factors that contribute to political polarization.
Thanks to funding provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities, free copies of Civility and American Democracy – co-edited by Dr. Clayton – will be available for audience members.
