The Faithful Citizenship event – coming to St. Francis of Assisi this Thursday night, April 28 – is an effort to reach out to people of faith who face important decisions about who they are and what they can do in our political process.

The program is designed to encourage both reflection and response through the lens of Catholic social thought, with a special focus on the issue of representation in a democratic society. We hope to facilitate thoughtful discussion about the following topics:

  • The call to participate in discernment and action in the political realm
  • The clearing of obstacles to participation
  • Equality of representation/access to equal representation
  • Issues concerning whose voice is heard in the political process
  • The role of the dignity of the human person and self-determination in the political process
  • The importance of the discernment process in making political decisions
  • Giving everyone a voice

Please join us for an evening program on April 28 that will include:

  • A panel discussion with political and faith leaders
  • An opportunity for small group reflection and Q&A with the panel
  • A chance to meet with representatives of local organizations to help you get involved

The evening will run from 7:00-8:30 p.m.

St. Francis is located at 15246 21st Ave SW; phone: (206) 242-4575.
