Michael David 2014 Sauvignon Blanc
After picking, we whole cluster press our Sauvignon Blanc on a gentle press cycle to keep phenolics low. The fresh pressed Sauvignon Blanc juice is cold settled to get all grape solids separated to the bottom of the tank. 100% Stainless. Aromas of grapefruit and lemon zest are prominent on the nose of our 2014 Sauvignon Blanc. A continuing parade of citrus notes emerge on the palate, revealing fresh grapefruit and tart green apple. Well balanced acidity on the finish makes this summer white crisp, light and refreshing.Michael David 2014 Chardonnay
Handcrafted from our family’s vineyard, our Chardonnay is a fusion of style. From numerous hand pickings throughout the ripening period, our winemakers produce three distinct Chardonnays that are later blended into a final wine just prior to bottling. From a crisp, fruit driven style fermented and aged in stainless steel, to a softer, more round French oak barrel fermented Chardonnay, our Chardonnay captures the best qualities of each style. The 2014 Chardonnay opens with an inviting tropical fruit-like bouquet and aromas of kiwi and banana. As the wine dances across your palate, summer stone fruits (apricot and white peach) become more apparent. A slight hint of oak finishes out this lovely wine.Michael David 2013 6th Sense Syrah
The Phillips brothers planted one of the first Syrah vineyards in California in 1982. With Michael’s son Kevin continuing the Phillips grape growing tradition into the 6th generation, this Syrah vineyard was one of the first he tended to as our Vineyard Manager. Typical of a Lodi Syrah, our 6th Sense is big, juicy and doesn’t hold anything back. Initial flavors of ripe blackberry, boysenberry and a hint of allspice lead to a chocolate and tobacco laced finish. Ready to enjoy now, but this wine will age beautifully in the bottle over.
~ 90 points Wine Enthusiast ~Earthquake 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon
Over the top and shattering to the veins, these wines possess major concentration and daring flavor. The original is the Earthquake Zin which came from an old Lodi vineyard planted around the same time of San Francisco’s great Earthquake of 1906. While mulling over a label name in the vineyard, Michael Phillips thoughtit only seemed fitting to relate this intense wine with the historical quake. These dark and voluminous wines will definitely leave your senses quivering. The 2013 vintage of Earthquake Cab is a well structured, full bodied wine. Mild tannins give way to dark summer fruit (blackcurrant and plum) and a hint of tobacco. Layered with notes of chocolate and savory spice, this wine is the perfect compliment to a well cooked beef filet.
~ 90 Points Robert Parker ~Earthquake 2013 Old Vine Zinfandel
“This wine packs so much vibrant fruit, you’ll think the Kool-Aid Man just burst through the wall and punched you in the face! Jam packed with crushed strawberry and dark summer fruit (plum, blackberry, cherry) with a velvety full mouth feel. Vanilla and baking spices round out the finish with a slight hint of tobacco.”
