The Pirate Wrestling team had a good month of December!
The Pirates placed third as a team in the Centralia Tournament on Dec. 10, 2016 and had seven wrestlers place in the top three. It has been awhile since the Pirates placed as a team at this tournament.

The Pirates beat Riverridge and Eatonville at a dual meet on Dec. 15, 2016. Riverridge had a lady wrestler on varsity who was pretty tough both on and off the mat. Some of the newer Pirates get frustrated when they go out of bounds before they earn points for a move. That happened a couple of times against Eatonville.
The Lady Pirate wrestlers had a tournament on Dec. 17, 2016. I do not get to see the lady wrestlers very often, so it was great to have a whole afternoon of them.
On Dec. 30, 2016, the Pirates headed to the Tri-Cities for a tournament at Hanford. There were many teams from Eastern Washington and they wrestle more aggressively than we are used to. Several of the wrestlers made it to the constellation rounds and the team as a whole did okay.
