Photos and Story by Isabel Herbruger, age 12
On Jan. 5, the Pirates lost to both Steilacoom and Orting. Even tough they lost, the Pirates looked really good on the mat. Pirate Maury earned a great pin against Steilacoom which got the whole crowd cheering for the Pirates.

On Jan. 10, the Pirates beat Liberty 34-31. It was a fun time at this meet and it showed on the mat. Pirate Gil made it look easy, laughing on the mat with his opponent.
On Jan. 19, the Pirates beat Clover Park. There were several forfeits by Clover Park, so it was a very quick meet. It was also the only spotlight match at Highline this year. The new league has more dual meets, which do not use the spotlight.
The last two meets of the year at are against Renton at Renton Highschool on January 26, 2017, at 6pm and against Rogers High on Jan. 27, in Puyallup South Hill Mall Food Court area at 7 p.m.
