The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society: Pennies for Patients drive is an effort to raise money for blood cancer research, and some local students are seeking your help.
All funds raised go towards finding a cure and patient services.
“At the National Honor Society at Highline High School, we want to make the biggest difference and contribution possible,” Cathy, a Highline student Organizer, said. “In this effort, we’re really hoping the community could help us make a change.”
While it is called Pennies for Patients, any amount of money will help them reach their $1300 (or more goal). All around the community, there are white boxes placed in local stores labeled with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society logo.
These stores are
- A Place for Pets
- Australian Pie Co.
- 1st AVE Cafe
- Picked and Preserved
- The Tin Room
- 909 Coffee and Wine
Donations can be made to these boxes. NHS members will be coming by to these stores to collect the funds. In addition, if you have a student that attends Highline High School, you can pass along the donation to them for them to put in a box set in every class around school.
