Community members are invited to learn how to install a rain garden in a free workshop hosted by the City of Burien on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
This will be the second of three “learning and doing” workshops where volunteers will both learn and help install ten rain gardens in low-income neighborhoods across Burien. DIRTCorps‘ Community Partnership Environmental Training Program will deliver the training and help volunteers install the rain gardens.
The workshop will be held at 1032 SW 150th Street (map below).
Workshop instruction will be available in both English and Spanish. No experience is necessary. Volunteer learners will have the opportunity to earn a Rain Garden Certificate of Training awarded by City of Burien and DIRTCorps. There will also be a raffle for prizes.
