From our friends at Burien Actors Theatre:
Come learn about Burien’s new script club this Saturday, Aug. 19!
That’s right, Burien now has a script club.
Burien Actors Theatre will be holding an introductory meeting to its play script club at Merrill Gardens, 15020 5th Ave SW, this Saturday, Aug.19, 2017, at 11 a.m. Come join us!
BAT will also be talking about its new 2017-18 season, which opens Sept. 29, 2017, with the Puget Sound premiere of Ben Butler.
Ben Butler is the story of the practical end of slavery in America, based on the true events of May 23, 1861. Amazingly, this script is both historical and funny. This show is not to be missed.

BAT’s script club is much like a book club, but instead of reading books the members will be reading scripts. Often the script will be for the play BAT will be performing next, but the club will also be reading other very interesting scripts. This is a joyous way to become theatre literate, but more importantly, to have a good time and get to know your neighbors.
BAT’s very own Faith Beatty will lead the first few sessions of the script club. Then, depending on the wishes of the group, she will move on or stay. It’s all up to you.
Burien has a long history steeped in live theater. This is your chance to become part of that history. It’s your chance to give BAT feedback and to be entertained with new friends.
Come check out BAT’s script club at the meeting at Merrill Gardens on Saturday, August 19, at 11 am. (You do not have to be a resident at Merrill Gardens to attend.)
Also, feel free to check out the Burien Actors Lending Library (BALL) located at Bumbershoot Books at 639 SW 152nd Street. BAT has placed 250 books and scripts in BALL for you to check out!
As BAT heads into its 38th consecutive season, join the fun! Join the discussion! Join the script club!
BAT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and has been treating audiences to intriguing and invigorating theatrical experiences they won’t see in movies or anywhere else.
See you Saturday at 11, and then at a show!
