The City of Burien will be hosting a public meeting to inform updates to the City’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan on Thursday, Nov. 2.

The event will run from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the Burien Community Center’s Seahurst Banquet Hall.

The City of Burien ADA Transition Plan provides policies and practices for implementing physical pedestrian improvements within the public right-of-way in the city of Burien. The goals of the plan are to optimize the pedestrian experience, to provide safe and usable pedestrian facilities for all pedestrians, and to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and standards. The City of Burien updates their ADA Transition Plan every three to five years, and this year we’re identifying the next phase of priority geographic areas in Burien for barrier inventory and removal.

The City of Burien is hosting a meeting to hear from Burien residents, people with disabilities, and local service and advocacy groups about priority areas to improve accessibility.

WHAT: A public meeting to share information and gather feedback from Burien residents to inform the next update of the City of Burien Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan. The meeting will include an open house, a presentation, and small and large group discussions.
