The Highline Public Schools Superintendent’s Family Action Committee (FAC) is currently seeking nominations.
The FAC has been active for six years and brings parent and family voice to a variety of district strategies, practices and decisions.
The application deadline is Friday, May 10. Those nominated must be a parent, family member or guardian of a Highline Public Schools student.
For the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years, this committee is charged with:
- Providing the superintendent and staff strategies for effective family engagement practices.
- Providing input and feedback on school district policies, and department strategies and practices.
- Holding the district accountable for strategic plan goals. District staff will report out on specific metrics on a regular basis.
Committee members are asked to commit to a two-year term, which includes orientation and training, quarterly meetings and subcommittee meetings.

- Co-developing Highline’s family engagement catalog.
- Producing a nationally recognized family engagement video:

- Reviewing and providing feedback on policies such as equity and family engagement.
- Co-developing Highline’s family engagement survey and vision.
