2017 Burien Citizen of the Year Wendy Meyers, along with husband Chris, have assembled a team of tutors who are dedicated and caring, which assist students achieve positive results.Their reasonable rates are intentionally designed to be affordable to the average Highline family.

“Our regular program includes summer tutoring for refresher of skills and getting ready for the new year. The most popular subjects asked for are Math (all levels) Reading and Writing (composition and penmanship). Spelling is also becoming popular.” Says Wendy, adding: “We can do credit retrieval classes for math with special arrangements.”

Families are encouraged to ask about other subjects since they bring in tutors with specific skills as needed.

English Language Learners family classes are now being offered.This is group tutoring for a family learning English communication. The group is for one family up to 5 people. Group assignments include working with business communications, school communications, vocabulary development and other related skills working with English. Members of the family may include children as well as adults. There are 4 -1 1/2 hour sessions for a reasonable rate.

The teacher is an experienced ELL teacher for all ages.

This unique format helps families “stay on the same page” when it comes to school expectations and communications. The program empowers English-as-a-second language parents to navigate the school system with confidence while guiding their children to academic success.
