Help Teachers by entering the Edgar Martinez Hall of Fame Raffle for a Cause

Technology Access Foundation announced Monday (July 15) that it will be hosting an Edgar Martinez Hall of Fame online raffle from July 15 – 25th, 2019, featuring signed memorabilia to celebrate Edgar Martinez’s induction to the Hall of Fame and support the Martinez Fellowship.

The raffle will provide local fans a chance to own a piece of Mariners history and support teachers of color in Washington State public schools.

The raffle will last for eleven days, and represents his retired No. 11 jersey and years since Edgar and Holli Martinez founded the Martinez Fellowship program recruit and retain more teachers of color. Raffle items include signed baseballs, specially designed collectible magnums of wine, baseball cards, and other Edgar Martinez and Mariners memorabilia. All proceeds from the raffle will support the Martinez Fellowship.

“We’re hoping the Seattle community will take advantage of the opportunity to win the memorabilia while also supporting a cause that is dear to Edgar and Holli Martinez,” says Sherry Williams, Executive Director of Operations at TAF. “A lot of the items are priceless and are much more than just collectibles. Participating in the raffle supports our work to bring Edgar and Holli Martinez’s vision into a reality,” she added.

Participants must be 21 and over to enter. Winners will be announced on July 25, 2019. Enter the online raffle here:

About The Martinez Fellowship
The Martinez Fellowship was established in 2008 under Edgar and Holli Martinez’s nonprofit, the Martinez Foundation, with a mission of improving teacher diversity and the retention of educators of color across Washington State. In 2015, the Martinez Foundation entrusted TAF to continue its efforts of diversifying the teacher population. Today, over 180 Martinez Fellows impact 15,000 students.
