Advertiser The Kenney Home in West Seattle is hosting a free community workshop to assist families with discussions and decisions regarding aging parents – “A Heart To Heart With Aging Parents” will take place on Thursday, Feb. 13 starting at 6 p.m. at in their Community Room 2, (7125 Fauntleroy Way SW, West Seattle, WA 98136).

“Talking to aging parents about giving up the car keys or moving out of the house are very difficult conversations to have,” said Having the Conversation spokeswoman Moraine Byrne. “We want to be a resource to families because we understand the importance of creating a dignified lifestyle for older adults.”

With more than 20 years of experience guiding and counseling families on how to have meaningful and respectful conversations with aging parents, Mrs. Byrne will share an online resource, www.HavingTheConversation.com. Participants will be able to walk away with practical resources and tips to help start respectful conversations with aging family members, while addressing the fears and guilt that younger family members often experience.

RSVP by calling 206.937.2800 or register online at TheKenney.org.

Walk-ins are welcome the day of the event.

The community event is sponsored by The Kenney, West Seattle’s only Continuing Care Retirement Community.
