[EDITOR'S NOTE: The following is a Letter to the Editor, written by a Reader. It does not necessarily reflect the opinion of The B-Town Blog nor its staff:]

Hello, my name is Samantha Crotty. I am in the choir at Mount Rainier High School. This year, we were invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York. This honor was only given to ten schools in the United States. This opportunity will bring us closer as a choir, as a school, and help us to really find ourselves through our common love of music.

Although this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is so inspiring, it comes at a cost.

We have greatly struggled in trying to make the payments. As a result, we have come up with many different fundraisers to help lift the burden off of our fellow student’s shoulders. We ask for some help in spreading the word.

We are selling discount cards through ES Fundraising. After purchase, you are then able to use this card for unlimited uses for an entire year. Some of these discounts are things such as buy one get one free tacos from Taco Bell, $2 off any pizza at Papa Murphy’s, Free Entrées at Panda Express, and many more. All of this is available for the price of $20.

We are also holding a benefit concert on the 28th of February. We will have food, karaoke, an auction, and a performance from the choir students you would be supporting. Tickets are $15 each.

Any type of support is greatly appreciated.

If you could help us advertise in any way, we would be extremely thankful. We are also willing to do a performance to thank those who help us.

If you have any questions or concerns, you may call or email me at (206) 498-7529 samanthak777@yahoo.com.

You may also contact our music director, Sara Stricherz at (206) 631-7104 or at sara.stricherz@highlineschools.org.

Our school’s address is:

Mount Rainier High School
22450 19th Ave s
Des Moines WA 98198
