The Highline High School Booster Club this week postponed its 100th Anniversary “Dancing Through the Decades” celebration – originally scheduled for Saturday, May 3 – after board members cited low ticket sales.
The decision was made at the club’s board meeting on April 22, 2025.
Organizers said they hope rescheduling the event for the fall, closer to the school’s 100th Homecoming, will boost attendance from alumni, parents and the wider Burien community.
“Our hope is that by centering it closer to our 100th Homecoming more alumni, community and parents will come out and show their #PiratePride by supporting our student athletes and clubs through attending this event,” the Booster Club board said in a statement.
The club will contact those who have already purchased tickets or made donations, offering refunds or the option to hold tickets for the rescheduled celebration.
The board expressed both regret and appreciation for supporters’ understanding.
“Our sincere apologies and gratitude for your understanding in making this difficult decision,” the board said.
The Booster Club said it remains committed to supporting Highline High School’s student athletes and extracurricular programs.
Stay tuned to the blog, as we’ll post an update when the new date is announced.
