[EDITOR'S NOTE: The following is a Letter to the Editor, written by a Reader. It does not necessarily reflect the opinion of The B-Town Blog nor its staff:]

Hello fellow Burien residents!

On September 27th the city council will be holding an economic summit to gather ideas about how to better our city. As of late, it seems that they have been focused mainly on hygiene.

I will be there, as I hope all who are concerned about the economic well being of our city will be, speaking about the ideas I ran on during the council race last year. Such as bringing an anchor tenant to Burien, i.e. a company headquarters. Also bringing back money generating ideas like adult sports.

I will offer to use my expertise and service to the council in hopes that they will move forward with productive outcomes.

While surrounding cities such as Renton and Tukwila show growth and prosperity, we in Burien continue to rely on grants from other cities and counties. I’m proposing that we become independent from relying on such grants.

Please join me in lending your voice to the discussion!!

Thank you for your time. I look forward to sharing ideas with you.

Sincerely,
Robert L. Richmond III
