There isn’t much hope for a continuation of summer ahead. Light rain and showers will condition us this weekend for the soaking of next week.

A train of soaking and possibly windy storm systems is going to develop and impact the Pacific Northwest throughout next week.

THIS WEEKEND: A weak system will bring some showers for western Washington on Saturday and the showers will linger until Sunday morning. Something to briefly mention is that a large pool of cold and unstable air will accompany the weak system which could spark a few thunderclaps or tiny hail within the showers during the afternoon on Saturday.

The Week’s Storm Train: choo-choo!

MONDAY: The First Soaking – the first real soaking will be Monday night when a front connected to a disorganized storm system quickly pushes through Canada.

TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY: Lingering Showers

After Monday’s front leaves, another weak storm system slowly drifts toward our coast which will keep the mid-week showery and cool.

THURSDAY and FRIDAY: Strong System (maybe).

Keep in mind that computer weather models (even our region specific models from UW) have a very tough time forecasting accurately past a few days, so take them with a grain of salt. They show that a strong low pressure system will be spinning off Canada’s west coast on Thursday that could bring more heavy rain and even high winds depending on it’s track. Keep updated as the models are refined closer to the date.
