[EDITOR'S NOTE: The following is a Letter to the Editor, written by a Reader. It does not necessarily reflect the opinion of The B-Town Blog nor its staff:]
In a few days, we will receive our BALLOTS.
We will also receive our VOTERS PAMPHLETS, explaining the issues we will be voting on.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
Why do they withhold the real details in the resolution?
They must be worried that some of us might understand it!
GUESS WHAT, THEY ARE RIGHT ABOUT THAT!!
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
They appear to be intent on making sure all voters, for or against the proposition, are “Low Information Voters”, I wonder why.
A little research reveals their dirty little secret; you know, the part they don’t want us to see.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
In section 1 sub section (b) “The District lacks sufficient money with which to pay the costs of the Projects.” That seems to be a recurring problem in the Highline School District.
In 2002 they conned us into voting for a 148 million dollar bond.
They realized how easy that was so in 2006 they raised the ante a mere 41 million to 189 million dollars, now they are raising the ante again by more than 196 million to a whopping 385,065,156.00 million!
We have not paid off the first two bonds yet.
Where do you think it will stop? I for one don’t like them playing poker with our taxes! It looks, like they are bluffing, and It’s time for us to call!!
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
They want our money, but they won’t promise to spend it to benefit our children who are the only important ones in this fight, not some overpaid bureaucrat who is paid $303,000.00 every year, that amounts to more than $6,363,000.00 over the life of the bond!
Or some public relations organization whose goal is to spend $700,000.00 plus a 16% increase every year, to sell us a bill of goods Trying to convince us that it’s for the children when it’s really about building a bigger “Education Empire” on the backs of the children!,
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
Doing a little math, it turns out, that they will be spending an unbelievable amount of our taxes trying to hoodwink us again!
During the first year they will spend $700,000.00
Carrying the calculations out to ten years, reveals the astounding fact that The Highline School District’s Public Relations Department, will have spent a total of $15,399,213.78 of our taxes trying to convince us, that they need more of our money!
Trying to Conn us “low information voters” into voting for more “Education Empire” enhancing bond issues. I’ve heard the rumor that “numbers tell the story” now I’m beginning to believe it!BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
Every project in the resolution has the disclaimer statement at the end: “ALL AS DEEMED NESSASARY AND ADVISABLE BY THE BOARD”
That removes any responsibility for the construction of any of the projects listed in the proposition except collecting our money, and spending it as they see fit!BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
An up to date news flash just came in!! Webster is changing the definition of “Slush Fund” to “Highline School District” How did this monster grow to such a grotesque size?
