Friday night Yeti Teen Ski/Snowboard ‘Beast Bus’ starts Jan. 9

A Friday Night Yeti Ski/Snowboard ‘Beast Bus’ to The Summit Central will start Jan. 9, and here are the details:

WHEN: Jan 9, 16, 23, 30, Feb 6, 13, 20, 27

WHERE: Des Moines Field House (2 pm), Burien Community Center (2:30 pm)

RETURN: 10:30pm

LESSONS: Sorry, no lessons are provided as part of this program, so skiers should have basic skiing skills. Participating in group lessons offered at the ski area has been difficult to arrange so that it fits within our time window. Check with The Summit for more information,

WHO CAN GO?
The target age for the ski bus is 13-17 years old. We are not providing ski lessons, so skiers should already have basic skills or go with a friend who can show them the ropes.

COST
Many different options available. There is discount for signing up for all 8 days (select “package” when you register. Season rentals from the ski area might be a good option if you plan to come the entire season but you’ll need to arrange that with the area.

  • 13-15 Lift Ticket/Bus Ride: $49
  • 16-17 Lift Ticket/Bus Ride: $57
  • Bus Ride Only: $25

When you register, you’ll have the option of purchasing a $10 food voucher for use at the area as well.

We have a small number of $10-$20 discounts for students demonstrating economic need. E-mail jonelson@goyeti.org to inquire about availability.

PERSONAL EQUIPMENT
Buses have plenty of room for skiing equipment. YETI master are not allowed to adjust ski bindings, so please insure they are all setup.

PARENT INVOLVMENT
Parents are encouraged to come along as well. If you are interested in serving as the designated YETI master for a particular trip or the entire season, please email jonelson@goyeti.org. Free lift ticket and transportation provided for the designated YETI leader on each evening.

BRING A BUDDY
We highly encourage friends to sign up together, so that each student has a someone they can ski/ride with even if they are different abilities.

SKI RENTALS
Equipment rentals and lessons are not included and would need to be arranged with the ski area. The YETI master can facilitate your child to help with rentals.
