We’d like to welcome back returning Advertiser Bikram Yoga Burien – which is not just for Bikram anymore!
Located in the heart of Burien, Bikram Yoga Burien is dedicated to offering Yoga and fitness practices that fit your life. This week and all through the end of Summer you will find a host of fun and unique classes and events to keep you moving. Studio Director Nina Granatir shared these words with us about all that is happening at BYB:
There is lots happening at Bikram Yoga Burien! Did you know that BYB has expanded it’s offerings beyond Bikram Yoga? We now offer all different types of classes, heated and unheated. We have 45 minute, 60 minute, and 90 minute classes with over 28 different times to choose from!
Our Yoga HIIT class has been a huge hit since we launched it in June. This class combines yoga with High Intensity Interval Training exercises to burn fat and build muscle. Class is 45 mins, offered Monday and Wednesday at 7am. Yin Yoga is an unheated class designed to bring healing to the body and relaxation to the mind. Postures are held longer in order to nurture connective tissue in the body. Props are used to make this class very relaxing. Vinyasa means movement with breath. In this class postures are flowed together, using the breath as the bridge. Creative sequences and great music makes this class both fun and productive. Bikram 60 is just a condensed version of the 90 min format. 26 postures with 2 breathing exercise, designed to strengthen and stretch every muscle group, bone joint, and system in the body. All classes are beginner friendly. Stay tuned for our expanded schedule with More classes coming this fall!
This Saturday, August 1st, come take a special Barre Class with the creators of Hot Body Barre! Barre is a fitness class based on yoga, ballet, strength training and Pilates.
Their motto is:
Burn. Breathe. Shake. Repeat.
Cost is $25 and space is limited to 20 participants so sign up early! You can register by calling or stopping by the studio.
Also coming up a Chakra Workshop: August 22nd from 12-2:
Come learn about the Chakras (energy in the body) in this interactive presentation.You’ll learn how to understand the energy in the body, how to identify imbalances and how yoga relates to Chakras/energy.You will get a Chakra Handout, and note-taking materials are advisable. Wear yoga clothing and bring yoga mat. The workshop will end with a 45 minute guided meditation in Savasana, including Chakra specific essential oil aromatherapy, designed to help restore chakra energy and help you feel a greater sense of connection and peace. Eye pillows, blankets and bolsters for comfortable Savasana recommended. Don’t miss this valuable workshop!
Kids Yoga with Laura! August 30th, at 1pm. Ages 5-7
Cooperative games, theme activities, storytelling, music, and art engage the natural energy and enthusiasm of the 5, 6 and 7 year old child. Classes explore yoga poses, breathing exercises, visual imagery and relaxation techniques while conveying lessons in self-expression, body image, social skills, positive thinking, and environmental awareness.

In partnership with the Burien Farmers Market, we roll out our mats and practice in the grass! Class is FREE and all levels are welcome.
