Photos and Story by Isabel Herbruger, age 11
The Highline Pirates Cross Country teams competed against other local schools on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Evergreen High at the Class Meet Jamboree. There are over thirty runners on the Pirate team this year, including nine freshman and fifteen girls.
Coach Post said, “It is a great turnout this year and we are really excited.”
Cross Country is hard to shoot. The teams run fast on a course that goes all over the place. If you watch a race, plan to see the start, maybe part of the middle, and hopefully the end is not too far from the start so you can watch the finish. Then you go back to the start for the next group of runners!
A lot of the team run all over the course to cheer. One runner from Foster got confused on how to finish. Her coach ran over to help her finish the course the right way.

I do not know the team placings, but they should be available on Seamount Athletics soon.
The next meet is Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Evergreen Campus at 4 p.m. Highline will run against Evergreen and Hazen.
