Highline Public Schools announced Monday (Sept. 28) that all its football teams will be “getting their PINK on” to support the American Cancer Society and Breast Cancer Awareness Month during the Friday, Oct. 2 football games.
Add some pink to your high school colors at this Friday’s double-header football games between Highline and Evergreen (5 p.m.) and Mount Rainier and Thomas Jefferson (8 p.m.) at Highline Memorial Stadium.
Highline School District Athletics and student leadership groups are rallying around efforts to promote breast cancer awareness and raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Student, American Cancer Society and Highline Medical Center volunteers will be at the games with literature and will provide opportunities to raise funds to support the more than 5,620 women and their families diagnosed with breast cancer in Washington state this year.
Pink gear worn by players at the games were donated by the Des Moines Rotary.
“You’ll be seeing PINK at other fall athletic events across the district. See you at the games!”
