Mural Art Workshop-2

Advertiser Matt Griffin YMCA recently received a grant from 4Culture to create a community-themed art installment, which will be displayed in the Charlie LaBenz Youth Development Center at the Y.

The purpose of this project is to develop a greater sense of community for the Highline area, to promote youth engagement and to encourage the community art process.

The Y is offering an opportunity for artistic teens and preteens in the South Seattle and South King County area to work on the planning, design and execution of this mural with local guest artist Christine Lamb. Students involved in this project will be empowered to develop their problem-solving, artistic and leadership skills, as well as strengthen their community.

There is no fee. The program will last 6-8 weeks, beginning Oct. 26th.
