A ‘Zero Suicide‘ conference will be held at the Criminal Justice Training Center in Burien on Friday, Feb 26, from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
This even meets the state requirements for suicide training.
The Zero Suicide approach was recently featured on NPR and NPR’s Diane Rehm show.
This conference is designed to be relevant and applicable to all health providers, but community members are encouraged to attend as well.
Speakers include David Covington (co-developer of the Zero Suicide approach), and local leaders Greg Simon, Kate Comtois, Tina Orwell, Group Health, Franciscan Health, Puyallup Tribal Health Authority and VA Puget Sound.

The Problem: The incidence of Suicide in Washington State is 10% above the national average. The costs in terms of societal and economic loss is too high and must be diminished. Suicide can have a devastating impact on everyone.
Solution: Join us for an Introduction to the Zero Suicide Model, the innovative healthcare program that successfully reduced suicide attempts in a single location by two thirds.
In accordance with RCW 43.70.442, the State of WA requires health professionals be trained in assessment, treatment, and management of patients struggling with suicidal ideation. CEU’s will be available.
