Local Author Georgette Vikingstad Valle will celebrate the launch of her third book – Hi Diddle Diddle, Read a Bird Riddle – with a book signing at the Thursday, Feb. 25 Normandy Park Art Gallery Champagne Reception.

Illustrations from the book by Debra Valpey of Burien’s Artists United will be featured in this exhibit, along with works from five other artists. Attendees will be treated to live classical guitar duets, champagne, hors d’oeuvres and a chance to purchase a signed book copy from Georgette.

In addition to illustrations from Debra Valpey, this new exhibit will include works from artists Judy Lane, Judy Eckhart, Tracy LeMoine, Nancy Bogni and Gunter Winkelmann. All Normandy Park Art Gallery art is for sale, and this exhibit will benefit Children’s Therapy Center in Burien. Offering one of the most experienced and highly trained pediatric therapy staffs in the country they provide services for children with developmental delays or disabilities. “Of the many local organizations our Gallery has raised donations for, Children’s Therapy Center holds a special place in our residents’ hearts. Our Art of Life Club has helped support this facility in the past, selling hand-made items to raise money to purchase needed equipment.” says Mac McQuade, Community Outreach Director for Normandy Park Senior Living.

The gallery reception and book signing takes place Thursday, February 25th at Normandy Park Senior Living from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The public is invited and admission is free. For more information about Normandy Park Senior Living and the Normandy Park Art Gallery monthly events please contact Mac McQuade at 206-241-0821. Local artists interested in showing in the gallery may also contact Mr. McQuade to explore future opportunities to display their work.
