The final ‘Andy Mac is Love’ fundraiser to raise money for a local firefighter education program will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19.
‘Andy Mac’ was a volunteer firefighter who, at age 19, tragically lost his life in the 2006 flooding of the Cowlitz River.
“Our goal is to encourage continued firefighter education while fulfilling Andy’s devotion to becoming a firefighter and helping others,” reads an announcement.
The evening will include: appetizers, dinner, drinks, raffle and silent auction.

We honor his devoted aspirations of becoming a firefighter and his commitment to helping those around him by encouraging continued education in the fire service. Each November, we hold a fundraiser benefit to raise money for the scholarship. Last year more than 300 people attended and we raised over $13,000.
The scholarship is set up with the Puget Sound Skills Center (PSSC) in the Highline School District, where Andy began his firefighting training. The scholarship assists cadets in the PSSC Fire Services program by offering scholarships to colleges or trade schools to continue their fire service education, and it has sent several cadets to summer training conferences. We have also donated to various charities in the Seattle area. To date we have raised close to $100,000 and awarded 20 cadets with scholarships.
The event includes dinner, a raffle, and a silent auction which consists of items donated from local businesses and personal items that Andy’s family and friends contribute. This year, the Andy Mac is Love Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 and starts at 3:00 pm at the Cove in Normandy Park.
Any type of donation to the fundraiser would be greatly appreciated.
