Ashley Fosberg, Executive Director for the Highline Schools Foundation since 2011, has announced that she is leaving the Foundation to accept a position as executive director of the Rave Foundation, the official charitable arm of Seattle Sounders FC.

Highline Schools Foundation has begun its search for a new executive director.

“While we are sad to see Ashley leave, we are grateful for her leadership and dedication over the past five and a half years, which has allowed the Foundation to realize so much of its potential,” said Foundation President Mike Yellam. “Together with a strong board of trustees and a dedicated staff, Ashley’s contributions leave the Foundation poised to be successful far into the future.”

During her tenure as the Foundation’s executive director, Ashley oversaw the growth of the Foundation’s annual support for Highline students and programs from $300,000 in 2012 to $750,000 in 2016. Ashley facilitated the development of long-term, sustainable partnerships with individuals and corporations such as Boeing, Alaska Airlines, and the Port of Seattle for the benefit of Highline students. Ashley reorganized key fundraising events for the Foundation, and most recently, led efforts to launch the “Graduate! Highline” movement, a grassroots community effort to support increasing Highline’s graduation rate.

“Ashley has done an incredible job of building the Foundation into a powerhouse of support for our students,” said Highline Superintendent Susan Enfield. “She will be greatly missed.”

The Foundation Board of Trustees has formed a hiring committee composed of Foundation board members, district employees, and community stakeholders who will oversee the process of identifying the Foundation’s new executive director.

“We will be working closely with staff and Foundation leadership to identify strong candidates,” said Yellam. “We want to thank Ashley for agreeing to actively assist in the transition and remain invested in our programs and priorities.”
