From our very own Puget Sound Weather Geek:
Offshore flow is clearing out any chance of fog Thursday morning (Sept. 11) as a high pressure system fills in above us.
We’re going to see some lovely weather for the next week, clear skies and temperatures upwards of 80’F.
However, this weather is going to come at a cost: The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for most of Western Washington starting early Thursday morning. As our flow changes, winds will increase in the Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges, this combined with low humidity and excessively dry fuels will create a very high danger of out of control forest fires.
If you live in a wooded area or are surrounded by dry brush, you might want to think about clearing a “defensible perimeter” that would make it easier for wild-land firefighters to defend your home.
